Note:  If the book has a DOI, you preferably include this number instead of the URL. The URL isn’t mandatory to include if the e-book and the printed version are exactly the same. If the e-book doesn’t have a DOI and the e-book is only available through paywalls, you can refer to it in the same way as the printed version.

Checklist:

Make sure you are including all editors. Remember that if there are for example four names given on the title page, but you see the mentions of (ed.) or (red.) only behind the last person, this usually means all of them are editors.

Did you write the names of the editors in the correct order? You need to follow the same order as you see it on the book and refrain from sorting them alphabetically.

Test yourself!

Who or what are you supposed to refer to if you are citing a chapter of an edited e-book?
Correct! You need to refer to the chapter’s author in the text’s parenthesis.
This isn’t correct. Try again.
