How to use the Citation Compass

First time visitor to the Citation Compass, or curious how to get the most out of this website?

How to get started:

  1. Select your reference style on the front page.
  2. On the reference style page you will have two options: Select a source type for rules and examples, or explore the more general rules.
  3. For each source type you will find information on in-text citation and the reference list entry.
  4. Follow the guides for EndNote or Zotero if you are using one of these tools.

Can’t find an answer to your question? You might find the answer by looking through the general rules listed under “Rules” on the reference style page.

Is the source you have found trustworthy? Find out how to evaluate sources in our section Source Evaluation.

Do you still have questions? We recommend contacting your teacher/supervisor, or your local library for further assistance.
